Yes, while the Clark and Stanley adventures are obnoxious, they essentially give free points so I'm in, mostly due to the fact that the legitimate adventures get tedious at times. Take "Saving Private Raymond" as an example.
Great adventure? It's well made, and it actually gives you a feel of war. But the first two parts are so bloody boring and tedious that it almost ruined the whole thing for me. You just whack down some Anti-Tank Barricades and hope to Spode that some jerk doesn't walk up to you and cause you both to get blown up.
Then it's the second part where you have to destroy the giant cannon things. This would be fine if it wasn't for the fact that Spore has you throw the Dynamite downward, and so if you're not on those crates right behind the giant guns, you're getting insta-killed. And then it's all the way back to the beginning Others have the problem where it's reversed.
It's not very tedious and it plays rather easily, but it's horribly made what with them not even bothering to make their own content and just shoving pre-made Maxis stuff on there and bad terraforming.
I have no problem with using Maxis content in your adventures, and heck I advise doing it when you're getting the hang of it.
But I've just seen so many Adventures that hardly even try any more, they just shove a bunch of random Maxis pre-made things into there, give them ridiculous HP Buffs and turn them into Epics, slap a name on it and say that's a legitimate adventure. All you have to do for Clark and Stanley is click away at some dialogue, do a random thing, get your points and leave.
At least we do get really good adventures, the Maxis-Made Adventures are actually really well done, especially that Temple of Spode game, but Sturgeon's Law does indeed apply with something like Spore Galactic Adventures, because people can freely make their own adventures and it requires little effort to do some of them.
